The New Group’s production of Blood From a Stone, starring Ethan Hawke, has extended its off-Broadway run. The new play by Tommy Nohilly, which was scheduled to close on February 5, will now run through February 19.
An unflinching and darkly comic depiction of life in blue collar Connecticut, Blood From a Stone zeroes in on a working class family wrestling to keep it together. When Travis (Hawke) pays a visit to his parents' home, he finds an already volatile household imploding and his close-knit but deeply conflicted family teetering on the brink.
In addition to Hawke, the cast of Blood From a Stone includes Natasha Lyonne, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Thomas Guiry, Ann Dowd and Gordon Clapp. New Group Artistic Director Scott Elliott helms the production, currently running at the Acorn Theatre on Theatre Row.
